Do Things Out Of Your Comfort Zone For Big Rewards

People get comfortable in everyday life. They do the same things, have the same routine.

Don’t get me wrong, I love routine and structure, but some of the most rewarding things are done when a person does something out of their comfort zone.

For a lot of people this will be working out.

For the majority of the people that come see me it is a very big step out of their comfort zone.

And I give them a lot of credit for that.

People in general are unsure of themselves. Especially when it comes to working out… especially in front of other people.

You can see it easily when they first walk in. Most of them are nervous, I have even had people who’s hands were trembling they were so scared.

That’s why the most important thing when first meeting a client is to put them at ease and make their program for the day super easy.

You can see the look of relief as they start getting into it and once the session is over.

I always say, “that wasn’t so bad now was it?” Which they will always say with a smile, “No.”

By the next session most of their fears are gone and soon they are looking forward to the workouts.

I can relate myself as public speaking is one of the things that makes me nervous.

I’m good one on one and in small groups. I have even done presentations with a lot of people watching with no problem.

However I do get nervous getting up in front of a big group of people and doing speeches. I always have.

I always tell people of all things they teach kids in school, public speaking should be one of them. It’s such a good life skill that I think everyone should be good at. I think from k-12 or 13 (I don’t even know what it is nowadays) kids should be made to do presentations to the class every week. I sure wish they did this when I was in school.

I took toastmasters for 6 months and it helped a lot. I would get nervous before every class but once I got up to do my speech it wasn’t all that bad. I wish I would have kept it up but business got busy and kind of took over. I will for sure go back someday!

Some of the most rewarding things in life have been when I went and did things out of my comfort zone. If anything is holding you back from working out then always remember this.
