Procrastination And putting things off

Procrastination And Putting Things Off

I got a good one for you guys today. Let’s talk about procrastination and putting things off.

There have been many times that clients have told me that they looked at my site for a very long time, before they actually called me to train.

I have had clients say that they kept going back to my site for a whole year(or more) before finally picking up the phone and calling me.

I’m sure some even look at my site longer than that, and never ever even make that call.

The thing is and what a lot of people don’t realize is that time is not infinite.

No, you do not have all the time in the world to get things done.

None of us are guaranteed tomorrow and time does go by fast.

Sure you might be thinking of losing weight and getting healthier “some day.”

That “some day” can lead to weeks, months, years, and even decades of procrastination, and “some day” never happens.

Next thing you know your whole life has passed you by and you lived most of it overweight, unhealthy, and unhappy with yourself.

Now why do people procrastinate?

Well there are a lot of reasons but one of them is that for a lot of people starting an exercise and weight loss program will make a person do things out of their “comfort zone.”

Doing the same things over and over daily is comfortable.

Comfort is also the kiss of mediocracy.

You want a mediocre life? Stay comfortable.

From my own experience some of the most rewarding things in my life were done, when I stepped out of my comfort zone.

The anticipated “fear” is always far greater and greatly over exaggerated from the reality of the situation.

Always.

When clients come in for their first workout I always ask them if they are nervous.

Most of them are, some are really nervous and afraid.

However once we get them going it’s smooth sailing.

After the workout is over I tell them, “see I told you, you had nothing to worry or be nervous about!”

Then they usually give a smile or a laugh and say, “yes you are right about that!” or something along those lines.

It happens all the time.
