Why The Number 5 Is Important

Did you know if your best friend is overweight you have a greater chance of being overweight yourself?

If your best friend is healthy, fit and lives the lifestyle you have a greater chance of doing the same.

Jim Rohn has a famous saying, “you are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with.”

This makes a lot of sense if you think about it.

High end CEO’s and professionals spend time and associate mostly with people like themselves.

Do you think a CEO of a Fortune 500 company would hang around and spend alot of time with criminals, drug addicts, etc?

Probably not.

If you are trying to lose weight and get healthy yet all of your friends are overweight, eat like crap, and drink all the time then chances are you will get sucked into that lifestyle.

This is why alcoholics and drug addicts usually have to leave the poeple they used to hang around with if they want to change their life around.

They usually try to surround themselves with a whole new group of people that has similar values.

Charles Poliquin used to say that you are the average of the 5 foods you eat the most, the average of the 5 exercises you do the most, etc.

This also makes a lot of sense.

So when taking a look at where you are now and where you want to be with anything in life, it does make sense to take a close look at what your average of 5 is, and see what steps you can take to improve it.
