I had a past client reach out to me this week wanting to start training with me again.
She said, “I can’t do this myself, I want to start training again.”
This has been a VERY COMMON response with my past clients.
Actually if the shutdowns have showed people anything, is if they can or cannot go at it on their own.
I believe that not a large number people have been able to, and I have heard that there is a big influx of gym equipment that is hitting the used marketplace now.
If you have been able to do it on your own then great, good for you.
But for those of you that cannot do it on your own and need help you need to start making a plan. (To know if you are able to do it on your own just look at what you did during lockdowns and that is your answer.)
The first and most important question you need to ask yourself is, “with who and where am I going to go?”
Then you need to figure out who will give you the best chance of success. This will come down to experience and how many people they have helped out in your exact situation.
Then you have to figure out who will understand you and your personal situation and have your back and do everything possible to get you from wherever you are now to where you want to be.
Then you have to figure out where you can go that you will actually enjoy going to. If you don’t like the gym you are going to chances are you won’t keep up with the program. You should look forward to going for your workouts.
I honestly feel I can go up against anyone anywhere not only in Winnipeg, but in the world when it comes down to these questions.
Not many trainers have 20,000 hours and 30,000 sessions under their belt anywhere in the world…especially with this subset of people.
I would say in the top 1%.
